About The Rotary Club
of Savannah West
“We may not be the biggest club, but we have
the most fun! Just ask any of our members.”
Weekly luncheon meetings are held on most Wednesdays at the Hyatt Hotel on Bay Street (map and directions) at 12:30 where we are known to have the best food and the best views of all the local clubs. Diverse programs and speakers are provided weekly and club socials are held quarterly to foster fellowship. These socials include a Low Country Boil, an Oyster Roast, the annual Christmas Party and a party to roast the outgoing Club President.
Check our online calendar for our current weekly schedule and list of speakers

The ROTARY CLUB OF SAVANNAH WEST, the second oldest of six Rotary Clubs in Savannah, was chartered on March 31, 1966. During its first year, the Club began serving the community, creating an enduring relationship with Groves High School through recognition of the school's academic achievers. Today, some of the achievers are second generation recipients.
Rotary Savannah West supports many organizations, both locally, and internationally.
The ROTARY CLUB OF SAVANNAH WEST has assisted in organizing four other Rotary Clubs: Savannah South, Savannah East, Effingham County, and Glennville.
The ROTARY CLUB OF SAVANNAH WEST made annual contributions to an orphanage in Tampico, Mexico during a critical time in its revitalization. Today it is thriving, serving the needs of area Mexican children and no longer requiring our assistance.
The ROTARY CLUB OF SAVANNAH WEST was a vital factor in constructing the barrier-free wheel chair accessible playground on the southwest corner of Daffin Park; a marker at the entrance recognizes our efforts.
The Club has contributed more than $100,000 to the Rotary Foundation. One of our past Presidents, John Thompson, served as District Governor.
The Club has also been actively involved in the Georgia Rotary Student Program (GRSP)where students from around the world are selected to come to Georgia to study for a year in our State colleges and universities. They then return home as goodwill ambassadors for ROTARY and for Georgia.
The Club has also been an active participant in The Guatemala Literacy Project, annual bell ringing for Salvation Army, Toys for Tots Program and support the Royce Learning Center scholarship fund.
